A week-long programme on ‘Child Safety Week’ was successfully observed at Beli-Kids Educare, a Pre-School at Amranga, Barihat area of South Kamrup from 4th March 2020 to 12th March 2020 in order to create awareness on child safety and promote all-round development of the children of the locality. The week-long campaign included activities such as conducting awareness camps in nearby schools, distribution of leaflets to the teachers and guardians, planting of saplings by the children, as well as screening of children films. The main objective of the programme was to raise awareness on important child-related issues and concerns as well as promoting safety measures for ensuring a safe future for the children. To motivate and steer the children in nearby schools on the path of nature conservation, the institute undertakes the responsibility of distribution of saplings amongst thirty school children. A meticulously designed leaflet, highlighting various awareness tips as well as measures for promoting child’s safety was also distributed among thousand school students, covering four different Primary and Secondary Schools in the vicinity. As a part of the week-long activity series, Child Awareness Camp was also organized in several schools in the nearby locality. The names of the schools are as follows –Sikarhati Anchalik High School, Rammohan Goswami Primary School, Gargara, Majkuchi Primary Schools, Kumeria Anganwadi Kendra, 1 no Loharghat Anganwadi Kendra, Salbari Anganwadi Kendra, Dimali Anganwadi Kendra .The closing ceremony of the week-long programme was held at Beli-Kids Educare, located at Amranga, on 12 March 2020 at 11 am in the presence of the mother guardians of the locality. Gracing the occasion, Prof. Junu Das from DIET, Mirza spoke at length on various awareness measures for promoting safety of children as well as adolescents. She also mentioned several Government schemes, services and benefits for children in her speech. Prof. Das highlighted the important steps to be taken up by family as well as school authority in order to ensure holistic development of the children. The programme was also graced by Mrs. Jinti Rani Deka from Akashwani Kendra, Guwahati. Mrs. Deka appreciated the efforts of the school authorities for organizing such an influential awareness campaign for creating a safe and bright future for the children of the locality. She also shared many practical tips with the guardians and school management in order to ensure all-round development of children and promote safety measures in school as well as at home. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ratna Das, Director, Beli-Kids Educare, stressed upon the importance of teaching the children about self safety measures in schools and at home. Mr Ikuparna Das and Mrs Hiramoni Rabha, the two representatives from Childline, gave a clear picture of several instances of child labour, child abuse, child marriage as well as child trafficking in Kamrup and Goalpara districts of Assam, as well as spoke of various preventive measures to control such incidents in the near future. The closing ceremony also marked the presence of Mr. Dalim Chandra Das, Assistant Professor, IDOL, Gauhati University and Dr. Nabamita Das, Assistant Professor, Assam Don Bosco University. The program finally culminated with sharing of feedback by guardians and screening of short children films at the Institute.


National Science Day was celebrated at Beli-Kids Pre-School on 28th February 2020 in order to create awareness among people and guardians about the importance of science in everyday life and instill a sense of scientific outlook in them. Mr. Tarun Mohan Das, a retired Science Teacher, Amranga Barihat Higher Secondary School graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor for the function. The children of Beli-Kids Pre-School along with the guardians enthusiastically participated in the one day program. Scientific demonstration titled as BIGYANAR JAADU conducted by Director cum Faculty member of Beli-Kids, Ratna Das was one of the central attractions of the program.


The foundation day of Beli-Kids Educare was held on 17th of January 2020, which also marked the observance of SILPI DIVAS( the death anniversary of the great artist of Assam, Jyoti Prasad Agarwala) at the auditorium of Tridhara Anchalik kala Sangha, Amranga Barihat. Renowned academician and writer Moina Goswami along with Himangshu Prasad Das, well-known dramatist and filmmaker graced the occasion. Moina Goswami in his speech appreciated the initiative of Beli-Kids Pre-School and also mentioned that such a Pre-School is an institution of the society and that it is the society’s responsibility to enrich and nurture it. The program culminated with a colorful dance performance by the children of Beli-Kids as well as an art exhibition by the students of Jyoti Bishnu Chitra kala Kendra .


An awareness program was organized by Beli-Kids Educare in association with SPARSH-AXOM in order to create the importance of pre-school education in the locality (Amranga Barihat) on 22nd of September 2019 at Sikshak Bhaban , Amranga Barihat. A sizeable number of local people including children, guardians, and teachers as well as invited guests attended the awareness program. Renowned educationalist Dr. Ganeswar Saharia, Educational Researcher cum Activist Mukut Chandra Bhuyan, Assistant Professor Dr. Mitali Kathkatia and story writer and Assistant Professor Dalim Das were the invited guests for the event. Beli-Kids Educare felicitated four retired teachers of the locality namely Jaduram Kalita, Aswini Sarma,Nani Bala Das and Rupen Chandra Das and few child educators namely Prabin Sarma, Prasna Kalita were also felicitated. Gonit Sikao Aahok-(Part1) a primary school teachers handbook written by Uttam Chandra Das, Assistant Teacher, SSA was also released by the eminent guests on the dais.
